Tomorrow’s program, the Pope’s arrival and the prayer for the earthquake victims

PAPA A MILANO 1-3 giugno 2012Countdown for Pope Benedict XVI’s arrival. Milan and the pilgrims of the Seventh World Meeting of Families are ready to welcome the Holy Father, who is arriving at Linate airport tomorrow, June 1st, at 5 p.m. At 5.30 in Piazza Duomo He will be meeting the people and then He will be at Teatro alla  Scala where, at 7.30 p.m., conductor Daniel Barenboim is going to perform Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in honour of the Pope. It is going to be a cultural opportunity to speak of the world and the family, to set the themes of the Seventh World Meeting of Families to music. Cardinal Angelo Scola himself, Archbishop of Milan, has pointed out that «music is perhaps one of the most important elements in the reality of this celebration: there is no real feast without music, without men and women being captured by melodies and songs which can tell their happiness and sorrow, their expectations and woes.» At the end of the concert the Holy Father will be greeting the audience before going to the Archbishopric.
