2012 june,1: Tomorrow in Milan the Olive Tree from Nazareth

Tomorrow in Milan the Olive Tree from Nazareth
Symbol of the Dialogue between Jews and Christians

Angelo Scola e Tzvi Lotan - consigliere per gli Affari turistici dell'Ambasciata di IsraeleTomorrow morning at 10.30 AM the olive tree from Nazareth donated by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism will arrive at the Mico Milan City Fair for the VII World Meeting of Families.

The tree will be delivered to the Archbishop of Milan, Cardinal Angelo Scola, by Tzvi Lotan, counselor for tourism affairs of the Embassy of Israel, in the area where the Youth Congress is taking place. This is highly symbolic since the Youth Congress theme was the metaphor of the garden, a place where both work and celebrations take place, and thus tying into the World Congress theme.

The olive tree was brought from Nazareth, one of the most significant sites for pilgrimages to the Holy Land, the city of the Holy Family, the place that saw the childhood of Jesus and the Annunciation made to Mary.

The olive tree from Nazareth, at the end of the Youth Congress, will planted in the courtyard of the Milan Archiepiscopal Chancery.

The initiative, promoted by the city of Nazareth, endorsed by the Ministry of tourism, the city wants to unite the city of the Holy Family and the city of Milan which in these days is hosting pilgrims from 153 different countries. This act is another step on the path of dialogue initiated between Jews and Christians.
