Alejandro Galán and Juan Lebrón, and Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría, are the champions of the Riyadh Season Premier Padel P1. The number 1’s in the men’s and women’s FIP ranking won the first tournament of the 2024 Premier Padel season after two top-class finals at a ‘full house’ Padel Rush Arena.
Saudi fans were thrilled with the men’s final, which was decided in the third set after more than two hard-fought hours between the world number 1 and 2 pairings. Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia took a tightly contested first set in the tie-break. The second one was highly even too, but Galán and Lebrón secured it thanks to a break that became crucial to force a third thrilling set. Lebrón-Galán’s consistency in key moments allowed the Spaniards to lift their first tournament of the season (6-7, 6-4, 6-4).
The women’s final was a demonstration of clarity and consistency from Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría. The Spaniards have completed an outstanding tournament, not conceding a single set. Today they showed again their excellence by beating Delfi Brea and Bea González by 6-3, 6-2. The number 1’s took this way the first big battle of the women’s padel season.
