Giorgio Armani unveils ARMANI/Archivio in Venice during the International Film Festival
Giorgio Armani announces the official launch in Venice of ARMANI/Archivio, the new digital platform dedicated to sharing and showcasing the maison’s historical heritage.
This unique project in the international fashion landscape will be celebrated on August 30 at the Venice International Film Festival with an exclusive dinner supporting UNICEF, followed by a party for about 500 guests at the atmospheric Tesa 113 of the Arsenale.
A digital and physical platform to tell 50 years of history
ARMANI/Archivio was created to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Giorgio Armani brand and represents a true conceptual dictionary of the designer’s creativity. The platform collects thousands of original looks from both women’s and men’s collections, carefully documented and archived, and will be accessible from August 30 on archivio.armani.com.
All Armani Group employees will have full access to the database, while the public can explore an initial selection of 57 looks, chosen to represent consistency, evolution, and the designer’s innovative spirit across decades. At the same time, ARMANI/Archivio will also have a physical home near Milan, confirming the maison’s commitment to combining tradition with innovation.
Circularity and iconic pieces reborn
In addition to digitalization, the project is founded on the principle of creative circularity. Iconic garments from historic collections, preserved in the archives and selected for their timeless relevance, are reintroduced so they can continue to tell their story and inspire new generations.
After the Venetian debut, a curated selection of looks will travel to seven international boutiques. The journey begins in Milan, Paris, and London, then moves to the United States. Stops include Los Angeles, during the Academy Museum Gala on October 18, New York, and finally Asia, with presentations in Beijing and Tokyo.

A dialogue with Milan: Rinascente and Pinacoteca di Brera
From September 16 to 29, the windows of Milan’s Rinascente – a symbolic place of Armani’s beginnings – will be fully dedicated to ARMANI/Archivio, creating a visual narrative that bridges past and present.
The celebrations will culminate during Milan Fashion Week. On September 24, the Pinacoteca di Brera will host a public exhibition of 150 Giorgio Armani looks displayed among masterpieces of art. This event highlights the dialogue between fashion and culture. To close the week, the Giorgio Armani Women’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection will be shown in the courtyard of Palazzo Brera, enriched by selected men’s looks from the June show.
Armani’s social commitment with UNICEF
The launch of ARMANI/Archivio in Venice is also an occasion for solidarity. Giorgio Armani will support UNICEF through a contribution to the Global Humanitarian Thematic Fund, which ensures rapid and effective responses in emergencies. From conflicts to natural disasters and epidemics, the fund focuses especially on protecting children’s rights and needs.
An archive that becomes cultural heritage
ARMANI/Archivio is not just a digital collection of garments, but a shared cultural treasure. It tells fifty years of Italian and international fashion, building a bridge between memory and the future. It is a place where Armani’s stylistic consistency and timeless elegance take on a new, accessible, and living form of expression.
