With deep sorrow, the Armani Group announces the passing of its visionary creator, founder, and tireless soul: Giorgio Armani.
Known affectionately as “Il Maestro” by his collaborators and employees, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family. Until his final days, he remained fully dedicated, continuing to oversee the company, its collections, and the many projects that represented his vision for the future.
Over the decades, Giorgio Armani forged a vision that transcended fashion, embracing every dimension of life, always ahead of his time with extraordinary insight and pragmatism. He was driven by an endless curiosity, constant attention to the present, and profound humanity. Along this journey, he built an authentic dialogue with the world, earning admiration and affection for his ability to speak to everyone’s heart.
Deeply sensitive to the needs of the community, he dedicated himself to many causes, with special devotion to his beloved Milan.
The Giorgio Armani brand embodies half a century of history, nurtured with passion and perseverance. Giorgio Armani always made independence – of thought and action – his defining hallmark. Today, as always, the company continues to embody this authentic spirit. His family and all collaborators will carry on guiding the Group faithfully, honoring this legacy.

The funeral chamber will be open from Saturday, September 6, to Sunday, September 7, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Armani/Teatro in Via Bergognone 59, Milan. In accordance with the Maestro’s wishes, the funeral service will be held privately.
