First violin and solo violin of La Scala and the Filarmonica della Scala, he began studying violin at the age of six with Giovanni Leone. He later participated as a young musician in one of Italy’s most important musical events, the “Rassegna giovani violinisti” in Città di Vittorio Veneto, winning the first prize three times in 1982, 1984, and 1985.Elena Faccani
Born in Bologna, she graduated in Violin from the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan and in Viola in Piacenza at the “G. Nicolini” Conservatory. She has attended masterclasses and advanced courses with Corrado Romano, Miriam Fried, Giuliano Carmignola, and Franco Gulli. In 1997, she performed Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the “G. Cantelli” Orchestra in Sala Verdi, Milan, and that same year, she won the second prize at the Violin Festival in Vittorio Veneto.
Martina Lopez Smuraglia
Born in 1988 in Florence, she graduated with top honors from the “L. Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence under Maestro A. Nannoni. At just nineteen, she won the international competition for Concertino held by the La Scala Orchestra, performing under the direction of conductors such as Gergiev, Barenboim, Prêtre, Dudamel, Harding, Chailly, and Gatti.Her solo repertoire includes performances of Haydn’s two concertos and Dvořák’s Concerto with the Romanian National Radio Orchestra, Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with Franco Mezzena on violin, and Giovanni Sollima’s Violoncelles, vibrèz! at La Scala.
Roberto Paruzzo
He studied music at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan, graduating with top marks, honors, and a special mention. He then perfected his skills for ten years with Franco Gei, a student of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Pier Narciso Masi, and Kendall Taylor (Principal of the Royal College of London). He is currently a piano professor at the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto and the Académie de Musique “Tibor Varga” in Sion (Switzerland).
